Medical skincare, stripped back to what matters
Reduced to what works – in both the formula and the design.
The previous design
The previous design had become dated: functional and rather clinical – and no longer reflective of the product’s quality.
Key weaknesses of the previous design:
- Modernity
- Readability and clarity
- Information hierarchy
- Premium perception
- Logo rebranding (no private-label look)
Clarity in every line
Benevi stands for medical skincare recommended by dermatologists and developed for people with sensitive skin and a wide range of dermatological needs. This made it particularly important to create a neutral design that would appeal to a broad target audience while still having a distinctive character.
Making what matters visible
The aim of the redesign was to combine medical clarity with the premium feel of cosmetic skincare. No unnecessary decoration – just precision.
Readability, information hierarchy, logo placement and overall appearance were all improved. The existing colour palette was largely retained to maintain continuity.
Typography required particular attention: the type should no longer appear tilted, but still needed to be set prominently and at a meaningful size. Not an easy balance on such narrow packaging – too much typographic presence can quickly become overpowering.
Designed for digital
Another key consideration was the digital presentation. Benevi is sold primarily online rather than on physical retail shelves.
This offered a strategic advantage: the tube and folding carton are shown side by side in the online shop. The information could therefore be distributed intelligently across both front panels, keeping the overall design clean without sacrificing important content.
A concept that would not work in quite the same way on a physical shelf – but works particularly well in a digital environment.
Ein Konzept, das im physischen Regal so nicht funktionieren würde – im digitalen Raum aber umso besser aufgeht.
The result
Packaging that combines medical clarity with a caring, premium feel. Reduced, but not cold. Restrained, but not quiet. And precisely because of that: just right.
